This was my 2nd time coming to South of Nicks! The first time was in 2020, and I was seated outside. I remembered how delicious the margaritas, chips, and salsa were so I returned with a friend this past weekend. We had a reservation at 8pm on Saturday, I highly recommended making a reservation it was full! My friend and I were seated in a booth near the bar with a beautiful view of the sunset. My friend ordered a Cadillac margarita, and I had a skinny. My drink was perfectly sweet and tart. My friend drank hers, and ordered another! The service.. they were really busy, but we did try to flag down our server a few times. The manager ended up coming by and checking us out so we could make our next reservation. The chips, and salsa dips are honestly so good on their own! We had the birria enchiladas, and they were extremely spicy... they should mention this! We both enjoy spicy food, but this was so spicy it overpowered the dish. We also ordered the filet mignon salad , this was delightful! The steak was cooked perfectly it was so tender. I will happily come back for this salad! We were told the seafood enchiladas, and the birria tacos are the best items on the menu. This atmosphere inside is laid back, a bit up upscale and we really enjoyed being here. Come if you're in the mood to spend a little extra, and enjoy yourself.

I love this place. I could eat here every day. Great margaritas and tequila flight of 3 different corzo tequila. Tacos were so good. I love the shrimp taquitos don't come here and leave without getting them! Papas my husband enjoyed a lot with the chipotle sauce. I love their chips!! Great views and clean bathrooms with a cool scent for their diffuser. Our waitress was incredible and so friendly and nice. Sweet sweet lady!! Thank you. I'll be back tomorrow xoxo

Came here to celebrate cinco de mayo with my husband and brother. We started with some drinks. We ordered one regular margarita, one jalepeño watermelon margarita and a beer. Tasty drinks! Our table enjoyed their chips and salsa and bean dip with our drinks and before we filled up on chips we ordered their carnitas taco salad, carnitas plate and the seafood enchiladas. Everyone enjoyed the food and company ! Service is always on point every time we eat here. Happy Cinco de Mayo !!

Located on the second floor, the restaurant is a beautiful spot to view the beach. I made a reservation through Opentable. While I arrived on time, my friends were late due to traffic, merging lanes, and a police incident. I truly appreciated that the restaurant allowed us to hold the table. Paid parking is available behind the restaurant, and the fee is $3 an hour for up to 3 hours. As a starter, we were served with homemade chips, salsa, and a bean dip. We wanted SHARABLE entrees, so we ordered: GUACAMOLE (Avocado, Roma Tomatoes, Jalapeno, Cilantro, Red Onion) What stood out about this appetizer was the presentation. The coloration of the avocado was PERFECTLY lime green. The server gave us another basket of fresh tortilla chips glistening in oil. CEVICHE (Lime, Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Serrano Peppers, Avocado, pickled onions) - We had the option of Ahi Tuna or Shrimp. We asked for Ahi, which was another PHENOMENAL item. Again, it beautifully presented another SOLID selection. LA TABLITA (Grilled Shrimp, Ribeye, Chicken, Refried Beans, Spanish Rice, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Salsa Quemada, Stuffed Gero Pepper) - The HIGHLIGHT of the table was this FAMILY-STYLE DISH with tortillas. We LOVED EVERYTHING about this setting. Preferable sharing is around two to three, but we made it possible for five with other dishes we ordered. KEN WRIGHT CELLARS PINOT NOIR - A light and fruity wine from Willamette Valley. If you want something more robust, I suggest ordering a Cabernet Sauvignon.

South of Nick's is a fantastic place to eat, especially if you plan to visit on a Sunday and book a table beforehand. We were lucky to sit by the ocean, which made our meal even more special. The food and drinks were amazing! We tried lots of things, but two were our favorites. The carnitas plate was so tasty, with juicy meat and yummy seasoning. And the coconut margarita was incredible--it tasted like a little piece of paradise! What made our meal even better was the nice atmosphere and friendly service. The ocean view was beautiful, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, South of Nick's is a great place to go for a delicious meal and a lovely view. You won't be disappointed!

Highly would recommend getting reservations or at least putting your name in, as there will likely be a wait. The restaurant was slammed at around 6:00pm on a Thursday, but justified so. The interior was romantic but a little loud. We came earlier when it was light out, but waited a good 30-40 minutes for a table. We could see outside but it was mostly darkness and a some scattered lights against the mountain ranges. I got Guacamole to share as a starter, and the portion size was generous. Also good for people who don't have any tolerance to spice, as it was extremely mild (but delicious!) The chips came out warm with 2 different salsas and refried beans. This could have easily been the end of the meal, and I would have been happy. I shared the seafood enchiladas with a friend, and it was definitely a fusion "westernized" take on Mexican food, but also creative and tasty. There was a good amount of seafood in the enchilada and the sauce was memorable and comforting. I'd come back to try some of their other menu items!

Having visited this place several times in the past few months, I'm pleased to say that both the food and service consistently meet my expectations. Their drink selection is impressive, especially the margaritas, which I've sampled a few times and found all of them to be quite tasty. One of my favorite parts of dining here is the complimentary chips, salsas, and beans they provide at the start of each meal. The location is another standout feature, offering stunning ocean views that enhance the overall dining experience. Also, the parking structure is right behind the restaurant so that is super convenient.

South of Nicks What an outstanding restaurant. The views of the ocean are gorgeous. The service was a little slow for only having four other tables on a Wednesday at noon. I enjoyed the two salsas and warm beans that came out with the fresh chips. The ambience was nice, very cute inside. They have comfy plush couch type seating that sit high and against a glass window in front of the kitchen. The Mexican pizza appetizer was enough to fill up me and the person I was with. The jalapeno watermelon cocktail and michelada were great. Definitely a great spot with a large selection. I can't wait to go back and try more!
